Osito Engraving is a custom laser engraving studio based in Edmonton, Alberta, focused on precision craftsmanship and thoughtful design. Using professional CO₂ laser technology, we transform natural materials into detailed, personalized pieces built to last.
Whether you're looking for a meaningful gift, custom artwork, or branded items for your business, every project is approached with careful preparation and attention to detail. Designs are reviewed and approved before engraving to ensure the final piece reflects exactly what you envisioned.
Customers can choose from items we keep in stock—such as wallets, coasters, and gift pieces—or provide their own item for engraving if the material is suitable for laser processing.
Materials That Can Be Safely Engraved with a CO₂ Laser
CO₂ laser engraving works exceptionally well on many natural and coated materials, including:
- Wood (hardwoods, plywood, bamboo, MDF)
- Leather and leatherette
- Slate and natural stone
- Glass
- Acrylic (cast acrylic engraves best)
- Paper and cardboard
- Cork
- Rubber (laser-safe rubber only)
- Anodized aluminum
- Powder-coated metals
- Painted or coated metals
These materials allow for detailed engraving, clean contrast, and long-lasting results.
Materials We Can Safely Engrave
Materials That Cannot Be Engraved (Hazardous)
Some materials release toxic gases or corrosive fumes when exposed to laser energy and cannot be safely engraved. These include:
- PVC or vinyl (releases chlorine gas)
- Artificial leather containing PVC
- Polycarbonate (Lexan)
- ABS plastic
- Fiberglass
- Carbon fiber
- Teflon (PTFE)
- Some unknown plastics
- Materials containing chlorine or fluorine compounds

Engraving & Delivery
Once approved, your item is engraved and finished with care. You can drop off your item, arrange local pickup, or have the finished piece shipped.
